Well, I hope the flags are flying at half-mast in all govt. bldgs. I feel the nation should have a "moment of silence." The day Pearl Harbor was hit, Dec.7,'41 is not an official national holiday, so I doubt 9-11 will be.

My feeling is no. We should not create an Osama Holiday for any reason. He already has way to much power over us. Beside we have a holiday that is called Memorial Day. Granted it is for war heroes but I would certainly put the people who died and the people who tried to save them at the World Trade Centers in that category... heroes. Wouldn't you?!

No. It's not a holiday. I think 9/11 remembrence stuff is a little over done (I live in NYC and lived here on 9/11) the wounds are still fresh. We don't want to turn it into a BBQ day.

And do what?

Hold hands, cry, sing songs and hold candles? As long as the cameras are rolling right?

Do you get December 7th off? More people died then. Or do you know what I'm even talking about?

Why would you get a day off to celebrate a disaster?

no, because no one would sit around and remember what the day was for. The kids would party and goof off all day, so why should they stay home??? Maybe they should have to write a 20 page report on what 9/11 means to them if they get the day off!!!

No. It would turn into a day of 9/11 sales and highways crowded with people going on vacation instead of a day of remembering.

No,the day should proceed as usual, with appropriate commemoration. Our response at the time was to carry on and restore normality as soon as possible,to regain our blance you might say. Stopping everything for the day runs totally counter to our original reaction.

Looks like to me we have quite a few cold hearted Americans out there...We will always remember, and never forget......we didn't ask you to dwell on it, just remeber the ones who lost their lives and the families who lost loved ones...
I'm sorry most true Americans doesn't mind remembering.....
not dwelling on it....there is a difference...

No because the terrorists have cost this country enough money already. Taking another day off wouldn't help the economy.

no. i think if a kid needs to get pulled out of school cause they have to mourn cause someone they know died in 911, that is fair.
