There is no time to go back home in the blocked streets, no time to sleep specially if you pray El Fagr prayer or when you go out for a visit or suhoor. The most important reasons for me not to work in Ramadan that many people doesn't really make their jobs and all use the same excuse they are fasting and tired, so why should we spend a long time go and come from work. It's better to use the time in a better thing and leave streets for people who have urgent things to do only.

Rana : Your reasons are exactly what I mean. It's better to keep our fasting and stay at home as long as others are lazy and they don't do anything during the day.

Nony : It's also the same problem I mean. If we go to work we should work well (like our prophet said) but most of the people neither work well or fast and pray well in Ramadan.
For anyone who misunderstand my question, it's not a call to stop working in Ramadan. It's a call to do anything in a good way and will instead of doing everything in a bad way.

salam alikom
same here...i don't like to go to college in Ramadan...but for many other reasons....
for once i want to complete the right fasting of Ramadan...plus most professors are lazy to come in Ramadan(they come from portsaied) so i make the effort to wake up early and get dressed and take a cap(university is far from my place) for some ppl that doesn't respect us and are lazy to call and say "we're not coming"......
edit:
yes that's why i will try to stay at home as much as i can and not waste the valuable time of Ramadan...inshallah i will catch up with everything after eid inshallah....

Salam 3alikom,
I don't like work at Ramdan as you but my reason is completely opposite to yours.
Last Ramdan I had hell of work ( and at my company there is no excuse for not working & I think most private companies are the same) so regarding to my work I felt that I didn't pray well or fast well, so I don't like to work at Ramadan. I know that there are people do what you said though most peole work without eating at normal days but I don't know what's happeinig in Ramdan.
I completly agree with you that I don't like to work at Ramdan regarding to high traffic & specially this year the school will start with Ramdan & I can't imagin how the streets will like at 3.00PM !!!!
I wish to stay at home at this holly month but unfortunately I can't.
Any way I wish a happy Ramdan to all of you.
Ramdan Kareem

Salaam Alaikum, bhai - I agree. I think the sort of work people do nowadays is more mentally demanding that it was a couple of hundred years ago. I'm usually ready to pass out half way through the day when keeping rosa. Still - it's character building and a good feeling when you've kept them! Best of luck!

Yes me too. I just feel tired and upset. probably because i can't smoke. I agree, people work less in Ramadan. that's a shame. I'm trying to quit smoking this Ramadan. wish me good luck.
@mr scientist. Being a scientist, you must know that all scientists make mistakes. If I didn't know better, I would say god mad a mistake by creating you, but I'm sure there's a reason.

When I was in Turkey four years ago I found it difficult to deal with the guilt of eating and drinking in front of people who were observing Ramadan. However I would say that they all seemed to deal with it fine it was just me being a guilty tourist

oohhh , for the first time , i am little mad at you , that kind of talk is exactly what made us retarded, islam is religion of work so if we have to work while we are fasting , why not , our granfathers were fasting during fighting in wars , and imajine if everyone did what you say and stayed at home in ramadan , no one supposed to be sick ( no doctors ) , no one supposed to buy grocery ( no traders ) . no one even can watch t.v because there are workers there as far as i know, about me i miss my coffe in the morning then i forget about it and do my work because ( al 3amal 3ebada ) and i would like my prayers and 3ebadat to be complete in ramadan , wish god gives you strength to work and work and work in ramadan

every day before you go out to work, pray to God saying, ya rab sahel li kul shii'.this is the best way to go where you want, do your work in the best way, get things done , even find a god parking place for your car.
if fasting people do not perform their work properly, their fasting isnt accepted 100%.
so, let's fast well and perform our duties as best as possible so that God may bless us on earth and accept us in Heaven.
