You've all seen the people who answer a question and then say come to rootzoo.com and ask the question there because you'll get the best responses. Isn't this in violation of yahoo guidelines and an example of exploiting the community? The guidelines say you can post a link to a PERSONAL site if your site has more information on it that is directly related to the topic . The thing about rootzoo is that it might not have more information about the topic unless you ask a question there. Also, there are many users that post links to rootzoo, so obviously it isn't a personal site. Rootzoo is also loaded with ads, which means the more people they bring to their website, the more money they can charge for ads which according to Yahoo is spam and not allowed. What do you all think about this?

If I see a link to rootzoo I instantly give it a thumbs down and don't even bother reading the person's "answer".

If everyone did that it would automatically hide the "answer" for everyone else.

Yes - Spam. I havent looked at the guidelines, but I bet it says no advertising.

The visit Rootzoo thing doesnt annoy me, I went on it and it looks like a very good website. I wish I could get into it more, but I like Yahoo! Awnsers better.

See why people are calling Rootzoo the worst sport talk site! You will soon see why you will be running back to Yahoo! Awnsers for faster awnsers for youre questions.

Other than the serious contradiction that if Rootzoo was so good, why are their participants still hanging out at YA, I spent the first 2 months reporting it as spam and gotten no reply.

I then mocked them, making up my own antirootzoo ad for my signature, and that was fun, but had little effect.

You are right, of course, but if Yahoo doesn't care, not much we can do about it. Perhaps Yahoo owns Rootzoo??

It sounds like a really good marketing tactic for Rootzoo. Yahoo might not approve, but thats the risk they run by having an open forum blog.

Of course, your question does as much to direct people to rootzoo as anyone who is intentionally trying to get people to go there.

I think the people who do that are just trying to recruit more interesting users there. Why does it bother you?

They deleted all of our posts from final evening? No ask your self i could not discover it right this moment. i wanted to work out what number different persons voted to your advice! it incredibly is outrageous- yet i won't have the capacity to declare i'm overly greatly surprised. i attempted to make it easier to be attentive to...they do exactly not look to care! and that i will in straightforward terms wager that all and sundry of our lawsuits on that board probably made them seem undesirable, and it incredibly is the reason they deleted all of them. *sigh* looks like not something's gonna replace any time quickly. EDIT: Did all the posts/votes on the board get deleted too? or in simple terms your question/link? If the board messages have been given deleted as properly, i might could ask your self if Y/A did it.

Yes. The guidelines state,

"it is not OK to post links that are unrelated to the topic or are clearly meant only to solicit others for personal and financial gain."

Yeah, it's against the rules, but Yahoo employees don't give a rats @$$ about reportings. They don't read 3/4 of um anyways, so there is nothing we can do. I agree with you though.

It is probably owned by Yahoo as well, and what makes the world go round.
