Root is almost always, underground. So must be internal. only the consequences are devastitatingly external.

Bummer, I'm the only one saying "external". Listen, I am a pacifist, sort of, I am never easily angered (with the exception of pedophiles), and I will pass by without a change of emotion. I have used violence but as a last resort (with the exception of pedophiles). I guess what i am saying is I will lay down my life for my family and friends, but i won't go easy! I do have a violent reaction to anyone who hurts kids, but, if there was never a child hurt, then i would never get violent. It takes an outside source to make me violent. Anger is internal, violence is external.

The root of violence is internal. Violence just as with any other activity partaken of by humanity, on a large-scale basis or mano y mano begins and ends with the choices of individuals. If a human is sound internally arbitrary violence has little foothold within and soon withers and dies.

Bible teaches that violence is; the wicked will not know
peace and they will not have peace. It is internal because
it comes from a mans heart. What ever he imagines in
his heart that is evil and he does it. Like when your married
and your spouse cheats on you, that causes violence. Adultery is wickedness. Wickedness causes violence.
Be wise and read the bible because God is wiser then
all of man kind.

External forces cause internal violence! We are all capable of extreme anger! When that anger becomes unresolvable that is when violence erupts!*
