when i was 9 & 10 my parents and me would go shoping for things but we always made sure we made it to Comarios bakery in the neighboring town at 9:30 pm that is when he took the fresh baked bread out of the oven he would let us into the back to watch him do it with his long paddle
it was so good me and mom would have most of the loaf eaten before we got home and we only had 5 miles to go and most of that hiway GOD that was good bread made the old way

thanx for the memory

In Stowe Vermont there is a place called the Smugglers Notch Inn...they bake an incredible maple bread that has this maple creamy filling...more like a cake! Anyway, the last time I had that was last month, and I can't wait to go back for more!

I went to Nob Hill with my sister this weekend and they had just taken the sweet loaves out of the oven and put them out for us to buy. They were piping hot. We had to go back and get another one because we ate most of the first one while it was hot.

Other than that, there is a really good wheat bread at a place called Sweet Affair in Walnut Creek, CA. It's so good. Full of different nuts and grains. SOO good.

My father was a baker in the old country and then here in the states. Last great bread came from his oven before he died 10 years ago. Never been the same - at least not to my lips.

The last visit I made to Paris. The French may not know many things, but they make the best bread in the world.

We have a Great Harvest store in my town -- they make the best whole-grain breads I have every tasted.

2 days ago, I thawed out a sour-dough boule we took home from a restaurant, and spread some olive tapenade on it -- mmmmm delicious!

Lovebugbasso: question: What's the name of the bakery? If it's the same Nob Hill, I live in your city.
