A burglar will burgle ANY house rich or poor, they are usually oppertunists and will seek out windows not closed, doors not closed properly. they have no scruples, and they are prepared to take chances that a normal person would'nt take for their own gain.
They are not fools, if they see a box on the house flashing, they will pass it by.
If they hear a dog barking they will go to another one..
If they see that the mailbox is overflowing, then its possible that there is no one home
Determined burglars will check the contents of the bin, each day if necessary.
They will check if the grass has been cut recently.

Anything that they can get into the easiest. I think that houses that are well kept will prob be more secure, but really anyone is at risk of being broken into no matter how rich you are, anybody with a house is at risk.

I don't think they care if you have done your house work or not, i think unkept houses still have a few mod cons in it that thieves could sell on. They tend to go for different things on houses, depends on how good a burglar they are.

most will go for what looks easy but you must look at your habits example if you always leave your garage door open don't close it when you go out if you have timers on your lights don't set the bedroom one to go on the same time as living room one goes off you cant be in two rooms at once. they also know when the TV soaps are on because its a likely time most of the family will be sat in front of the TV but most are opportunists and you wont stop them whatever type of house you live in

They like the ones that set back far on the lot with no lights and preferably have bushes around them. Crooks don't like to be seen doing their work.
