I upgraded (some IE 7 upgrade, dunno which) and after the mandatory restart XP does not see the restart! I still have the little Auto Update yellow "shield". I can't install ANYTHING else because "another program or update is waiting to restart the computer". Restarted prolly 10 times now and nothin. I have even re-installed XP and still can't get rid of the yellow shield. How can I dump the need for a restart?!

go to microsofts website and there should be a way to scan your computer for updates once you find them manually install them. Also it might be that you need to delete all of your updates before you can do it the right way and update everything. Damn if i know how to do that try searching for how to delete windows updates.
