No, you are not responsible for reminding me of what I myself, think, to my great distress, daily...That would be the constant, continuous suffering my mother lives within, and has chosen to suffer stoically. When she lost her favorite brother, I tried to hug her, but she was pushing me away, except that I pushed harder and put my arms around her and would not allow her to escape. My mother very seldom cries, she tries always to be a fortress. But fortresses were never meant to be built of flesh, bone, blood. These are too tender.
When I held on to my mother she finally let go and began to cry copiously, and I remember she broke into the 2nd stage of grief by saying: "I do not want to grieve anymore, daughter..." And I held on to her for her dear life and mine.
