After Kaiser Wilhelm abdicated the throne where did he go and how much longer did he live, and the same question for General Ludendorf? What happened to them? I know Ludendorf was part of the 1923 Putsch of Hitlers, but what about after that?

Great good answers so far, but does anyone have DOB-DOD? That helps me know where they stayed after WWI, I knew Ludendorf stayed in Germany but I do not know when either passed away or what their world status was. Did they both live to see Hitler defeat France?

I do know that Kaiser and Tsar is the same as Caesar..=]]

Thanks so far!

Ludendorf stayed involved in far-right politics but disavowed Hitler after the failed Putsch. Ludendorf died an old man in Germany and was buried with military honors. The Kaiser fled to the Netherlands after he abdicated and lived in Doorn the rest of his life, dying there soon after the fall of France. Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands refused to turn him over to the victorious Allies after WWI, they had wanted to try him for war crimes.

Edit: Ludendorff died in 1937, before WWII started. He was born in 1865. He spent his years after the Putsch in seclusion, in Germany, writing anti-semitic books.

Wilhelm died in June 1941, after the fall of France (he sent Hitler a congratulatory telegram) but before the invasion of the USSR. Wilhelm was born in 1859.

The Netherlands or Belgium, one or the other.

Ludendorf remained in Germany until his death.

Interestingly, the term Kaiser is a Germanitization of the Latin Caesar, just as Tsar is in Russian.

As already said...the Netherlands where he lived a quiet rural life till his death.

oh and Kaiser = Tsar = Ceasar = Emperor....all refer to a ruler of multiple kingdoms or nations ( as opposed to king, queen, prince, sultan, emir, etc. ruling a single nation/people)
