I use a standard carpet cleaner with the upholstery attachment on car rugs and seats.

Using a toothbrush to scrub; if a standard ammonia based cleaning solution doesn't work then you can try hydrogen peroxide straight out of the bottle and if that doesn't work, standard household bleach one cup to a gallon of water will. Most synthetic carpets do not bleach out and will hold their colors but you might test one tiny spot first with a Q-tip.

Most stains will come out with hot/warm water and a decent carpet/upholstery cleaner and some scrubbing.

Good Luck!

Try that Tide stain pen? I would go with laundry type stain removing soaps first. You may need a stiff brush to scrub it a bit. Then either use a spray bottle with water and a wet vac to get it out or rent a steam cleaner with a furniture tool.

I'm sure "Hints from Heloise" has addressed this but I would suggest you steam clean it. Other cleaners (Goop hand cleaner might be a pre-treatment) will be hard to work in or be effective.
