Contact the locality where you were married. There should be a copy on file that they can send you for a fee.

You will have to pay for a new copy, (it's not too costly), but like your other answer, the best and probably only option is to go to your local Registrar Office, and take 3 (at least) ID's with you..driving licence, birth certificate, proof of your present address ( a letter/bill etc, should suffice), and obviously the date/year you were married, where, what town, maiden name/married name etc. Once they have this it's just a matter of a few days before they can get the copy to you. My grand-daughter has just got her Birth Certificate through the same way,and it was given to her more or less instantly. a friend x

You can obtain a certified true copy of your original marriage certificate by contacting the Clerks Office in the State and County in which you were married. There is usually a minimal fee of anywhere from $5.00 to $10.00 for the copy.

Order a copy of your marriage certificate from the county you were married in.

Depending on the State, divorces can't be granted without it.

call the county court house in which the marriage certificate was filed for...they'll have record and can issue you another one. For a fee.

let me guess, you're in New York State? Call the office where you filed the papers and insist that they replace or locate the papers at thier expense. If they still can't come through, and if you can afford to, contact a lawyer. Divorce is difficult enough without beareaucratic errors.

Some county records are online and you can print a copy right from your own computer.

Wedding records are public records so if your county is online, you can get them now. Otherwise, you'll have to go to the county clerks office.

Try to get in touch with the registry office which you were married in or try online at www.uk certificates.com! They always keep a copy and you should be able to obtain one from them. Hope it helps. Take care and good luck!
