I THINK I am doing everything it says, but it keeps saying 'Invalid Data'

This is the thing, it doesn't HAVE software! Basically it says 'plug in modem' press run' 'press connect' (basically), but it doesn't seem to recognise itself.

thanks Rainbow - thought that was going to work, but it didn't. This technology was only rolled out 10 days ago. Maybe it just wont work for me :-(

TRy Installing the software first than plug the Modem... if not work than you can run it through XP's driver...

in system properties go to hardware section and click Device Manager.. than find your modem from there and go to it's properties.. click reinstall or update driver..."conect to the internet tab" select "not now" ... than click next...than click install from a list...next...than don't search i'll chose the driver to install... next... select modem from the list... than select standard modem... from there..select...56000 bps V90 modem... next...yes.. I think it will work... it always work with most of the modem... or You can try other...

Follow the instructions,

Install software BEFORE connecting modem.
