I think having a goal in life makes us stay focused and more able to see successes in our life. Of course, if the goal is unreachable or impossible, there will be limited or no success.
What is your goal? What are you doing to win that goal in your life?

You betcha and I have almost achieved it. I wanted to be a teacher and a famous writer. Well, I am a teacher and as far as the famous writer, who knows? Emily Dickenson and Anne Frank are both famous and writers but not during their lifetime. I was reading some of your answers.
I have that goal of dying in old age in my sleep quietly into the night. I have a goal of having peace in my life too. The last two are still a work in progress. I have nothing to do with one and everything to do with the other.

I do not believe there is such thing as an unreachable goal. DaVinci was told that a flying machine could never be built; Van Gogh was laughed out of art school because he had "no talent". If you can dream it you can achieve it. Sometimes it takes more than one person and more than one lifetime but one philosophy breeds life to the next. Martin Luther King never saw his dream come true, but it did!

My goals are huge, I have so many, but currently I am working on my Masters Degree in Information Systems and will continue on with a PHD in chemistry. I plan to some day research diseases and cure them. It is important to remember that even if you only get half way there in your lifetime, that is 50% less that the next person has to do to obtain your dream. After that I inted to write a series of manuals for women for each state of thier life.

**I never finished high school, I am 23 years old and I have 5 kids. If I can do it anyone can!!

I always have goals. I have physical goals, professional goals, and personal goals. Physical ones usually pertain to appearance and body weight/tone. Professional goals tend to be more nebulous and quick to change. Personal goals are alot simpler, just a matter of making or breaking habits.

The only kind I really need to keep track of with pen and paper are physical goals, because everything is quantified. The other ones, I have a general sense for, and that has sufficed thusfar.

I also find that using milestones, like New Years, to reconsider all goals, and implement newer ones really helps maintain dedication to those goals.

Journals help alot too.

One personal goal is to see a bigger picture of you, you seem quite cute. =)

This might upset your apple cart but my goal is to die well. To be a decent human being or refered to as such afterwards. I'm not looking for suicide or anything so carnal. Wheather a person has a lot or nothing matters not to me. I'm as attractive as some, have as much money and things as some and less than others. How I "be" is of primary interest to me. I am comfortable to accept my lot in life as it is, and work from "within" to address the "without". I have daily goals of course; brush teeth, eat, complete assigned tasks etc. A master plan in visceral terms... Not so much!

One of my goals is to be financially secure, not wealthy or filthy rich, just to the point where I don't have to be in a constant state of worry or stress. Another is to be published at some point in my life. I am saving consistantly and investing wisely and with my writing, I am shopping for a venue for my type of writing style. Short stories.

When you reach an older age you sometimes see that your goal was foolish so you go for a new one which is feasible and practical, like getting laid in Siberia.
