LV strip restaurants-- NOT in the hotels?

Question

We’re going to Vegas in October. We will be trying out some hotel restaurants, but would like an idea of other restaurants – on or near the strip, Not in the hotels.
Fun / interesting places to eat with good food. Either Cheap or Pricey - It doesn't matter.
Suggestions? Opinions? Advice?

There is a great Italian restaurant just off the strip. It's called Batista's (spelling may be a bit off). It is also known as the Hole in the wall.

Inside it's full of neat things to look at and they treat you like family.

Prices are fair, food is good, house wine in included and a desert "coffee" is also given to top the meal off. The last time we were there an accordian player came by played and sang at each table.

A little corny..but very fun.

Hofbrauhaus is pretty good. Close to the Strip (on Paradise and Harmon - kitty-cornered accross from Hard Rock) Really good food and a great atmosphere. It can be a loud at times so if you're looking for something quiet - this is probably not the place to go.

We like the Peppermill which is on the Strip. It isn't that fancy (can't eat that anyways) but the food is excellent with good portions. It's located a little way back from the flow of traffic. If you feel romantic you can also have your meal by the fireplace side.

most are the same one would find any where else.... but any of them would be hard to say since theres like 800 plus places
