some months have more weeks than others and my nurse tried to tell me that if i last took the depo shot on june 18th then my next shot is due on sept 18th.

but if you count the weeks then it would be due sept 10th.

1 week allows BIG room for error. what timeline is correct?

MY NURSE is the one claiming it should be 3 months, not 12 weeks...that's scary!

Its almost the same thing. She should be giving you a reminder sheet for when your next shot is due.

IMO I would just NOT get the next shot. Too many women have too many negative side affects due to this shot.

Please google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out its reviews on http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx and thoroughly research this shot before getting it again.

normally they give you a range of dates that you need to get the shot again. and then after the last date, youre not suppose to have sex again until you get the shot and it has to be within a week. but the thing is that if you have been on depo for so long, it takes at least a year to even get pregnant after getting off the shot, so thats probably why they give us such a range.

I think that they make the shot to cover the extra days

every three months, when you get your shot, make your appt. for the next shot while you are there, that way the doctor will make sure the time frame is just right.
