i just recently bought a new laptop with the following specs:
intel core 2 duo T 7300 2.0 ghz
2 gb RAM
Nvidia 8600 GMT
120 GB 5400 rpm ghard drive
it's a vostro and i should be able to play most games; however when i play half life 2 my computer gets really hot and starts making all this noise and sometimes the game freezes. No it's not the problem with my hardware because even the game itself is recommending my system to the highest possible video settings and my computer has a 5.3 on the vista scoring index thingy. So is it safe for me to continue playing?

Go to the game's web site and download a patch. There is a glitch in the software.

Make sure your playing on a well ventilated solid and cool surface, playing on carpet or a bed or something will cause this.

Make sure that you have the latest drivers from the nvidia website.

Hope this helps.
