Ok, but do this with me...EIGHT ones, ZERO tens, SEVEN one hundreds, SIX one thousands, NINE ten-thousands, FOUR one hundred thousands, ONE million.
So, from right to left, that's ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten-thousands, hundred-thousands, millions. Get a grip on that and it's easy to find the 1 million and subtract it, leaving just four hundred ninety-six thousand seven hundred and eight, or 496,708.
