Charlie went to Seattle to be Hassleback's backup.

Derek Anderson will be the starter for now. Don't listen to these people who want Quinn to start. He is in no way even close to ready to be an NFL starter. Look for Quinn to take over after the bye week in week 7. Before that who are you going to start him against. The Bengals? The Ravens? The Patriots? The Dolphins? The Raiders? Those were all top defenses in the league last year. You can't throw a rookie who missed half of training camp up against those guys. They would eat him alive.

It is not a rumor.......here ya go from AP just a few moments ago:

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Cleveland Browns quarterback Charlie Frye on Tuesday was traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a sixth-round pick, according to a report on FOXSports.com

Frye was yanked in the second quarter of Sunday's season-opening 34-7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had completed just 4-of-10 passes and was sacked five times.

Frye's replacement, Derek Anderson, was not much better, finishing 13-of-28 with one touchdown, one interception and a fumble.
The move likely elevates rookie quarterback Brady Quinn, the 22nd overall pick, into at least the backup role in Cleveland. The Browns also will re-sign Ken Dorsey, who was with the club's third quarterback during the preseason.

According to the report, Frye will step into the backup role behind Matt Hasselbeck in Seattle.

A third-round pick out of Akron in 2005, Frye passed for 2,454 yards in 13 games for the Browns in 2006, throwing 10 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions.

That would allow the Seahawks to move current backup Seneca Wallace to wide receiver, adding depth to a position that was weakened when starting wideout D.J. Hackett suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday.

The Seahawks (1-0) play at Arizona on Sunday.

I think the Browns have a very tough week no matter who is at QB. I hope they do not pull another Tim Couch and put Brady in before he is ready. Let Anderson roll for a while and let Brady learn the system. A few losses now will be worth all the wins later on. Furthermore, their is nothing worse then a rookie QB who gets rattled and plays scared. I hope they give Brady time so we wont be dealing with another first round bust.
GO BROWNS!

Yep he's gone.

Can we get past this belief that Brady Quinn should be the starting QB this year? Do you know why Carson Palmer is such a great QB? Because he sat for a year and learned the system. Putting Quinn in now is a disaster.

I look for Anderson to start, although Id love to see Dorsey get some action.

Don't get Quinn killed this early - a lot of Browns and Fighting Irish fans will contemplate suicide. It looks like the Derek Anderson show until the Browns are mathematically out of contention - or until that O-line allows matador sacks like Quinn would have to take if he played today.

I'm still not buying Quinn as the best NFL QB not playing right now. He was overhyped at South Bend, and really hasn't shown comeback capability. But who knows what playing in front of his home town might do for him.

Yeah, they traded Frye to the Seahawks... Poor Seahawks.

I'd say Anderson is gonna be QB until Brady gets his feet wet.

i'm sure its just a rumor. i didnt hear anything of it yet. crennel has a lot of faith in frye for some odd reason.

well, i was wrong. it's not a rumor. now the news is coming out. i'm actualy stunned. brady does need a little more time to learn the system. the browns dont want to rush him in yet, otherwise it might scare him and it could result in him becoming a bust. i hope by the end of the year brady gets some playing time and shows signs of light. the browns have waited too long for a winning season. brady is the right fit there being a hometown hero type of guy. best of luck to brady quinn and the rest of the browns.

i know it's been said, but as another Browns fan, we pull Charlie out of the game, then push him out of the state! Went to the Seahawks to be Matt Hasselbeck's backup. Seneca Wallace is evidentally moving to PR/WR.

Brady's day will come soon, I'm saying by week 8. I think he's #2 on the depth chart now, but let's give him some time to learn the system and take snaps during the week with the first team.

The only Rumor should be that Brady will start against the Bengals...ouch, Bengals D looks tough, not how I would want to start my career, but you gotta start somewhere. At least it would be at home.

I think Derek will get his start this week and will get yanked at halftime in favor of Brady.. we will see.

I do not think they would just cut Charlie though, so that is probably a rumor. But with Romeo, who knows?

i believe ryan. it may be surely ludicrous for invoice Cowher to flow by means of the entire technique of retiring from a stylish enterprise like the Steelers and then connect up with the uber-loser Cleveland Brown enterprise some months later. i'm no longer ruling out that it ought to ensue, purely no longer now.
