it is always a good idea to have a birth plan, knowing what you would like to happen is always good.
But you should also inform yourself about the other options so that if in the event that you need medical help (c section or an epidural, than you are informed to the procedures and know what to expect.
my first son was natural with no medical intervention and no drugs. My second son was breech so epidural and a c section was the order of business. My third son they broke my water and put me on the lowest drip to encourage contractions, no pain medicine.
If i had any recommendation go vaginal you heal so much quicker, it is after all the natural way.
If your birth and delivery does not go as planned, don't stress over it, all that matters is that you and the little one are safe.
What ever the experience your outlook on it is what make the event a positive story to tell your son or daughter for years to come on their birthday.
Blessings!

I had natural birth with epidural. My pregnancy was quite easy. I had no symptom and my baby arrived as soon as I started to feel back pain due to the weight of my stomach. My baby arrived at 36 weeks and 3 days. After my water broke, it took less than 6 hours for my baby to arrive. I only had to push for 20 minutes. I pictured labor to be much harder because I saw my mom go through birth with my youngest brother. I believe it's the epidural helping me feel a lot better than I would naturally. Who knows? I've never even gave myself a chance to feel the pain and I've asked for the epidural.

I had four natural births using the Bradley method. I had no pain medicine, no electronic monitor, no routine episiotomy, and I was allowed to eat during labor. My last labor was 33 hours. Imagine fasting that whole time! I would not have been able to take it. I actually enjoyed my births. It was a very fulfilling experience. I did not have severe pain (except for crowning which does not last long). Please research the Bradley method. It really works.

i gave birth to my daughter at 38 weeks gestation she was very large for being early as she was almost 9lbs. i was 115 pounds when i got pregnant so it was a very difficult vaginal birth. i took an epidural but it did more harm then good because instead of numbing the lower half of my body it numbed my right arm. i was in labor for about 19 hours and pushed for almost 3 hours. it was horrible but def worth it. then after delivery i continued to bleed all over the place and they had to give some medicine to make me stop bleeding. sorry to tell you all bad but i was not prepared for anything like the labor i had, so be prepared for anything. good luck and best wishes!

It really depends on how big or small the Dr. thinks your child is. I had a vaginal birth and a c-section. If i had to do it again i would defiantly choose another c-section. It really just depends on you and the size and health of your baby. I would talk to the Dr and see what he thins on how you should give birth.

I had a natural child birth with no drugs or anything. I was in a heep of pain, but it was all worth it. I was thankful that I didn't have to have an emergency c-section or anything. Contractions are the worst part of labor, so brace yourself. Good luck and best wishes!

Vaginal birth with an epidural. If it is your first I would keep an open mind about going for the epidural. Until you have experienced the pain you should not opt for natural with no drugs.
