They might do, but more likely to do a google on your name, and see if you are in any dirty videos online etc.
If you have an online ID that you do NOT want a prospective employer to see, set upa Googlemail account for them to use, so a search on that does NOT link to your nude pictures.

It's possible. However, not everyone is able to be looked up that way. For instance, I have more than one email address, and the one I use for myspace is NOT the one I use as my main email. So I wouldn't be able to be looked up that way. Also, I know of people who for whatever reason do not show up when you search for them.

Yes, many do. They may not be only looking at your qualifications. It can be used as a way to evaluate you in general. I mean, it would stand to reason for a professional position an employer may choose someone with pictures of their family vacations over someone with pictures of themselves funneling beer, in "trashy" clothes or poses, you get the drift.
