What happened to this phrase, why are people claiming to be so sick and tired of hearing about 9-11? Isn't History repeated by those who forget the past?

Eric C, Where in my question did you find me saying that it's not a "big enough deal"? I made no such reference. When you use the the phrase; ...it's more than "we" do..., you are refering not just to my family and myself but a lot of others who do just as much and more on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day...etc., etc., etc. You have no idea how much of a patriot I or any other American Citizen is. What do you do for these other days? Do you put an American Flag out on Dec. 7th, or do you even know what that day represents?

It's amazing how the "Silent Majority" here in America has such a short memory. I bet no one remembers the 300 Marines killed in Beirut in 1980. Or how the American embassy in Tehran was overrun and those hostages were held for more than a year.
For years,America was told to eat the sh** sandwich with a smile. You keep poking an animal in a cage,be careful when you open the door, cause you're gonna get bit. Osama bin Laden swung the door wide open . Now the international community is wondering why we're using our military to occupy Iraq and Afghanistan.
This is NOTHING like Vietnam,so stop comparing them.

What would you like us to do in order to show the public that "We Will Never Forget" ?? ...there's memorial services going on all over the country - it's all over the news - flags are flying at half-mast - etc., etc., etc.
Maybe it's not a "big enough" deal to you ... but it's more than we do for Veteran's Day (although it's not quite up to the Federal Holiday status of Memorial Day).

I don't know exactly why you felt like I was questioning YOUR (the asker's) patriotism or your particular actions in rememberance of 9-11. I was speaking in general terms based upon what I see as I look around myself and the day-to-day activities around me.
Yes, I agree - it doesn't really seem like we're doing enough and that it's fading too quickly from society's memories and it does seem like it's too soon for the public to be asking "why are we making such a big deal out of it" (which is the impression I'm starting to get based on what I see).
And if you feel the need to make a "personal attack" by questioning my patriotism (or knowledge of Dec 7) - this really isn't the right forum for that.

I would no sooner forget 9/11 than the Greatest Generation would forget Pearl Harbor. But some people would prefer to place their heads up their cabooses and pretend that there are no bad people in the world.

It replaced right into a calculated selection. The participant desperate to dam the purpose along with his hand, which leads to a pk and a purple card. Ghana ought to have scored that pk. this is not any distinctive than fouling a basketball participant as he is going in for a layup. Edit: this is not a case of undesirable refereeing! The ref made the wonderful call. Ghana is the only that screwed it up.

I agree. I don't think we need to live our lives in fear, but a moment of reflection on this day is important. This tragedy happened to each and every American. A day or reflection and respect is the least we can do to remember those who are not longer with us.

I haven't forgotten. How can you when the pu**ylipped media and crybabies continue to harp on about it?It happened.Get over it.Let's get 'medieval' on the murdering religion that put this on us...make them bleed everywhere.Especially here in the US! That's way more therapuetic than weeping at Ground Zero.We need to stop crying and start killing or they'll just keep pushing us.Don't know about you but I'm weary of talk by 'experts'.Give the mooks what they can relate to...stick 'em with the bayonet!!

I haven't forgotten. I will never forget. My son in law is fighting in Afghanistan, so there is no way I could forget. Neither could his wife, my daughter or his precious daughters who are waiting for "daddy" to come home. Shame on the people who say they're "sick'' of hearing about it.
