Well its better than the other way around and you put gas in a diesel. It shouldnt hurt anything but it likely wont restart once it cools off. Depends on how much gasoline was in it before and how much diesel was added. The tank will likely need to be drained and refilled with gasoline. The spark plugs "may" be fouled and need replacing as well. When you get the diesel out and refilled, cycle the ignition to the on position several times without cranking to flush the higher concentration of diesel from the fuel lines. It will likely restart OK.

Drain the tank, plug in the bottom of the tank. May need to remove the tank and rinse with gas to make sure it's clean. Remove and replace new fuel filter. Back flush the fuel lines. Flush the carburetor/throttle body. 3 to 6 day job for you at home, 2 to 3 days in a good shop!

Bad Extremely!

Diesel has to be at a lot hotter temp to burn so chances are it won't run for long then you have real issues > best to drain an keep adding gas till gone get running an take a trip to burn off the diesel>

drain as much out as you can. refill with gas, restart and see how it runs. as others have said you may have to put plugs in it if it fouled them out. if there was just a small amount (10-15%) diesel in it i say fill it full and let it go. it will smoke a lot and then should start clearing up.
and take it easy on those marlboros....

Yeah it is pretty bad. If you have a pump, I would suggest you just pump out the remaining gas you have left out of the tank and get unleaded gas. Otherwise you can really mess it up and spend a lot more money fixing it when you could've just bought cigs with that money... I wouldn't start driving it if I were you...

Silly mistake but it happens

You will need to remove and flush out your petrol tank, flush you fuel pipe, dismantle and clean the carburetter and change the fuel filter

Take a little more care next time
