In DC.
At the time I was consulting for the Federal Gov't. I remember everyone scrambling to watch on small TV's, I remember having 5 full bars on my cell, but not being able to call anyone. I remember Yahoo News taking 20 minutes to load the "latest update". I remember thinking that not all of the things falling from the buildings in NY could be "debris"...
I remember being VERY VERY angry.
I remember going outside to look at the empty sky (no planes) and have a smoke. One of my then "smoke-buddies" (I quit 5 years ago) agreed with my statement.... "The world will change in a big way... And, it won't be for the better."

I had just dropped my daughter off at school for the day and went to the library to do some research... a man came in and told the librarian that a plane had just hit the world trade center, it did'nt hit me what he said until a few minutes later and i immediately went home and turned on the TV to watch the news and it was all over the channels...i remember crying and calling the school where my daughter was and asking if she needed to be picked up and if everything was o.k., i was very scared...
my boyfriend at the time and the father of my daughter was just about to board a plane in Nashville TN and was told that all flights had been cancelled which freaked me out even more....
God Bless the USA.

I was in school drawing on some girls leg watching it on tv and paying no attention to it was like meh...then got home and recorded it and then compared it a few months later to what they were talking about then they move on to Iraq instead of Afghanistan...when honestly they should go to Saudi Arabia but they got so much ****** oil $ they don't care about the real terrorists...felt the same way few months after that...just meh still feel the same way now they should make it a holiday now! and it was a huge money scam and waste of lives i think...sick, then they use it as an excuse to kick me out of school like a month later cause i was selling drugs pff...call me a terrorist jackasses & communists, i thought this was america but apparently noone is free if stuff like that happens is it? huh? i been there and up in the buildings i had family living close by there..too. excuses lies and complete bullshit Pearl Harbor is a less recognized holiday but more improtant...i respect being a true holiday... not this 9/11 ****.

I was in college classes and then at about 10:30am my professor said class is canceled, go watch the tv. The tv was in another classroom next door, so we went into that room not knowing what he was talking about but happy class was canceled. Then some of us sat down and saw the news and photos. Then I heard students passing by the classroom crying. Then I left and visited friends and watched more tv for the rest of the day.

I came to work that morning at 9 am and I overheard co-workers talking about a plane crash. I thought to myself it was just another plane crash somewhere, "out there." Then later I saw my plant manager watching TV in the conference room and someone told me what happened. I spent the afternoon watching the replays on TV.

I was on my way to work in Boston. I was listening to WEEI sports radio on the way in, nothing had happened yet. The first plane hit between the time I shut off my car and got to my pc booted up. I brought up my yahoo and saw the news flash, rushed to where there was TV in my building - arriving just after the second plane hit.
My company set up a TV signal to go through a projector in our cafe, most employees sat there and watched the news coverage into the afternoon.

Quite honestly and you may not like this, but I was watching the news, having turned it on early awaiting for coverage when the events did finally occur. As with the shuttle explosion and other events, I knew beforehand that it was going to happen but the few people I told didn't want to listen.

I was in the Marine Corps in NC in the dr's office waiting to be seen. I was sitting in the lobby watching the news because the first plane hit. They were replaying it while they showed the live picture of the tower burning. Then i saw the 2nd plane hit on live tv... it was heartbreaking.

Hubby was active duty Army, we were stationed in Germany. My son and I had just returned from school, and hubby called and told us to turn on the TV, stay indoors, and don't try to leave the post. We watched as the second tower collapsed, then called my parents stateside (who are late sleepers) to tell them to turn on THEIR TV. They were dumbfounded! They were worried that the locals would turn against us, but thankfully, they didn't . We wept together, then my son and I got the quilt my Grandmother gave me for my high school graduation, snuggled up on the couch and waited for my husband to return. It was a very, very long day...................
