How is donating tainted campaign money elsewhere "returning it?"?

That doesn't seem like "returning it" to me. Isn't that a euphemism so that the pols can make themselves feel better about it?

I think it is a cheesy attempt at rationalization.

If I take this money that I made from my illegal enterprise (selling contraband) and donate to a good cause (St. Jude's Hospital) then I am really not such a bad person am I?

A better question would be to ask if those orginanizations that are receiving said money are Clinton campaign supporters.
