Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

One of life's mysteries like: why does a gynaecologist ask a woman to undress behind a screen if he's going to look anyway. And why do dogs go mad if you blow in their faces but when you take them out in the car, they stick their heads out of the window.

The needles all come prepackaged in sterile plastic shrink-wrap. And it's more affordable to just get standard pre-sterilized hypodermics than to have special non-sterile needles just for lethal injections.

That's a funny question by the way. LOL

Lethal injection can be reversed if caught in time. So perhaps, as though life is a movie, they found the real person and got a confession just as the drugs were being pumped into the injecties body. Wouldn't it be awful if not only had a guy almost been killed for something he didn't do but now he also has some awful life threatening disease because of a failing court system's mistake.

It is so, coz, there are germs which is abt the microscopic at the tip of injection, while it is injected to one person.... so if it is came in the contact of any other esle with the same injection then certain germs will b appear itself, or the germs in the body of first person may inter in the body of second one, so it is quiet dangerous
so injection should b sterilize...........................

Hehe...I like this question. My guess would be that they sterilize it for the person doing the injecting not for the injectee (is that even a word? lol)

All needles are sterilised during manufacture by default - and batches cannot be specified for a specific purpose i.e lethal injection.

Well they DON'T actually. The needle is already sterilized. It comes pre-packaged

They don't sterilize the needle anymore co'z its already sterilized. You won't find any unsterilized needle in any hospital or drugstore. They're all sterilized when you buy new ones and i don't think they'll be using used (old) needles.

They don't want the person getting the injection to get an infection....although that would be the least of their problems.. HA HA
