Bush's poll numbers have bottomed out in low 30s and remained there, so it's no longer news. Congress has had low poll numbers, but that's because Democrats don't have a large enough majority to get bills onto the floor and to defeat Bush's vetoes. Current polls say that most voters will vote for the Democratic candidate for Congress in their district and state in 2008.

Currently, USA Today puts Bush's approval rating at 33%

No one--except theneoconswho don'tknow howour politicalsystem works--pays any attention to Congressional approval ratings, which are always low, anyway.

Why? Because they DO NOT MATTER. Americans do not vote for "Congress." They vote for individual Senators and Congressmen/women. And--if the neocons had enough knowledge of American politics to know even that much, they'd be looking at the approval ratings of individuals-or at least of the parties.

And those numbers are doing jsut fine--if you are a Democrat, that is! LOL
