Having a beverage is a preference, to help wash down dry foods, especially, or remove a taste from your mouth. In actuality, this breaks down the digestive enzymes in your system, so it takes longer for foods to completely digest. I always order water/lemon, but never take more than a few sips throughout the entire meal.

When I was growing up, glasses were always put on the table.. we drank a lot of milk then. I still put glasses out no matter what. I think it is only the polite thing to do. And I will offer something to drink if it is not on the table before I sit down.

Have a great day!

Yup. I always have a nice refreshing glass of ice cold water. I always get thirsty when I'm eating. If I don't have something near me to drink...I start thinking about it and if I wasn't thirsty before, I become thirsty...lol. It's a vicious cycle!

Oh wow! This is a good question, I'm eager to see what other people say because I cannot eat without having something to drink.
