yes things are slowly changing but trust me that you will die before interracial relationships are not frowned upon by some people. In westers civilisations, blacks, afro-american or whatever we call eachother, we used to be treated as inferiors and this mentality of superiority can still be seen in effect in many whites even to this day. Will this ever change, frankly i dont think it ever will. If Asians, Blacks, Indians or whatever were in the same position that whites are nowadays, a same way of classifying people would happen. Sadly, I just think thats just how humans are, we like to categorize things. Sure some of us are more open minded and agree more with new concepts such as interracial couples. The only thing there is to do is to keep on doing what youre doing. In short, for lazy people who are too lazy to read this paragraph, yes people still frown upon such things and it won't change anytime soon. Haters mary Hater Bitc**es and make some hater kids. Your friend is ridiculous. "That black guy" can be with anyone he chooses. I would have trouble being friends with someone like this.
I can only speak for myself, but I'm white and have no problem with interracial relationships, no matter who is black and who is white or if the races are black/Asian, white/Asian or some other mix. Interracial relationships are positive things.
I find it funny when the racist person says something about an interracial couple and neither person of this couple is that person's race/ethnicity (like in your situation). Once I was standing in line at the movie theatre with my (black) husband and there was another interracial couple with a little boy who had just come out...a Hispanic guy behind me started commenting (in Spanish) how awkward they looked together...it was all I could do to keep my mouth shut. First of all, he was Hispanic, so what did he care? Secondly, I'M with a black man and I understand Spanish. His ignorance blew me away...there are ignorant people everywhere. Did you ask your friend why he felt this way? I tell you, I just don't get it...

Because some white people feel that every race should be coupled w/them, which is really sad. They seem to get really jealous, and also get reminded that most non-whites don't always find them attractive or put them on a pedestal. Im not racist, just spilling out the truth.

Qwerty's statement about "Whites (and racists of other races)" actually sounds very racist to me. There are three races in this world to date - Caucasian, ******* and Mongoloid/Mongolian.
First off, no one knows every person of any of those three races, so stop generalizing and stereotyping. None of us are anyone to judge anyone else.
Remember - judge not lest yea be judged, that means don't judge unless you want GOD to judge you.
Secondly, we all belong to the same species, Homo Sapien, so get over yourselves already! This is evolution, check out Darwin's theory about attraction to the stronger genes of a mate.

Reminds me yesterday I was walking with my daughter and husband who is vietnamese/german through the lobby of my job when this white lady did like three double takes at us. When she turned her head and continued to walk, I became increasingly annoyed. I said in a loud conversational tone "Some people act as if they've never seen an interracial couple!" I knew she heard me and that's what I wanted. And, of course, she never turned around.
I don't play that crap. Nobody's about to make my family feel like we're some freaking side show freaks!

Just because he said that doesn't mean he thinks asians are for white men only. Maybe your friend is just one of those losers that think everybody should stick to their own kind.

A lot of people have too much time on their hands and so they feel it's their duty to worry about who other people are dating. Who cares what they think.
But to answer your question, I'm black and when I had a chinese gf the only grief I got (that I know of) was from black women.
