I was asleep in bed and I get a call from my mother-in-law telling me to turn on the tv right after the first plane hit. My husband is a pilot for Delta so I was glued to the tv the rest of the morning until I got a call. He was the last plane to take off so it took him a while to give me a call. Boy was I worried.

Why would someone give me a bad mark for this. He asked and I answered.

I had just put my son on the bus, & had come back in to watch some news before I started my day. I saw the second plane hit, while watching the news (I am on the West side of NJ) I knew people who worked in the city.
Then, I heard about the Pentagon....I know people who worked there too. Then, I heard my best friend was going to California, & no one knew if that was his flight in PA or not.
I found out later that day that my best friend died in a field in PA. Thankfully, I didn't personally know anyone in NY or DC, but I feel their pain too.

I was probably walking in the back door after going to the market early. I walked in the house, into the living room, turned the TV on, and I had just missed the first plane. My heart sunk.

I was getting ready to go to my doctor for my 6 month check up after my 2nd heart attack when my daughter called and told us to turn on the News. Just a few seconds after we turn it on, we watched the second plane crash into the 2nd building. Not a good day to visit my Cardiologist but I went anyway.

Driving my daughter (13) to school, we had to stop arguing to hear the news.
Later I made her watch the President's speech (it was history). She found the topic of the "plane crashes" so distasteful, that she took my pet Madagascar hissing cockroach out and played with it to distract herself. She had never handled the bug before. Obviously terrorism was more disgusting than the cockroach.
