I believe the 49ers defense was much improved since last year. Plus you know they are only going to get better as each week goes on they will gel more and more. Next week will be a test with the rams offense if they can shut them down like they did the cardinals then I will strongly believe that the niners D is the truth and they will be a contender to win their division. GO NINERS!!

The D looked nasty last night and I was excited to see that. The D-Line looked better than I thought and Patrick Willis is going to be a star, that guy is FAST!
The secondary was awesome! You couldnt have asked them to play better, Boldin and Fitzgerald were shut down all night.
My only worry was the run defense, Edgerrin was able to run all ngiht against them, Stephen Jackson is going to have a field day next week if this keeps up. Hopefully they will fix that.

i hate people saying its just the cardinals. hello...they have TWO pro bowl receivers and a former pro bowler in the backfield. anytime you can hold both star receivers to under 25 yrds each, your defense has done a damn good job. i dont care if its baltimores D or SFs D. if you can shut down BOTH stud WRs your D played great. what this allows the 49ers to do is to blitz more and get more pressure on the QB since their 2ndary can hold off WRs the LBs and DLine can blitz the QB all night, like yesterday.

They look good, but they were also playing the Cardinals. I think as the season goes the defense will keep the 49ers in several games this season.

Alex smith is finally stepping up. i think of Alex Smith has a bright destiny, whether this is not any longer quickly. i think of what he did final nighttime grow to be a pattern of what he can do, whether given the perfect circumstances. Smith does not have the main effective arm, yet he's studying alot. alex smith is an exceptionally smart guy, whilst in comparison with alot of QBs yet he's no longer smart in a soccer way yet. he's properly on his way, fantastically by ability of norv turner. in some greater years, this type of overall performance will probable a favourite element for him.

Good. They consistently attacked the weak Cardinals O line.

i thought they looked good.....2 picks.....and they shut the AZ receivers down all night.......and thats a pretty good tandem and i thought it really spoke volumes how they sat on them...they had really no option but to use the Edge.....And What can you say about Patrick Willis......Very impriessive like 9 or 10 tackles...a forced fumble......he was everywhere.......hes going to be a big star....

yah Cardinals O-Line was pretty bad. Leinart was constantly under pressure and James had to work extra hard for his yardage. Leinart sucks under pressure so he wasn't able to pass to his 2 good WR's. So that is why 49ers did well on defense although i doubt they will do that well with other teams.
