I'm a junior in college studying Public Relations and Journalism. Growing up in a small town, I knew that I always wanted to GET OUT of the state. I've always wanted to live in a big city, and live that fast paced life. My family is from a very small town, as is my boyfriend's family; he wants to stay near them. I feel like in the long run having a husband and a family is what will give you your true happiness in life, but I just don't think I would be content living in a small town my whole life and as a mom. I do want that, eventually, but there's so much else I want to do. I want to see the world, and truly make some sort of difference. I'm 20 years old, and I've been with my boyfriend for a year and a half. All of my friends seem to be really concerned about getting married. I do want to live in a big city and travel alot, but I also don't want to miss out on the little things in life, like being close to family and being in love. What do you think is best in the long run?

I grew up in a small city and now I have a wonderful job ... teaching, wonderful in everything except $... a great wife and two outstanding daughters living and working in a very large city..

Find the combination that is best for you. I believe you will find it if you look hard enough.

Both.
Devote a portion of your future to an amazing career yet anchor yourself to a stable relationship with a husband and a couple of children. Get to know your parents, enjoy the company of other stable families.
The most common mistake is to devote your entire life to a career. Sure it pays the bills but if you plan everything right, you can have your cake and eat it too.

i think of, at your age, a marvelous profession in a great city could be extra significant. i grew to become into in a matching difficulty. I grew up in a small city and moved to NYC after college by way of fact i did not desire to "quiet down" perfect out of school--i wanted to work out what grew to become into extremely available. I packed up my stuff and moved to NYC. you will have slightly of the two, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that. I fly homestead to flow to my kinfolk probably 3-4 circumstances a year (particularly at holidays) and notice my previous pals as properly. The adventure of residing in a great city has replaced my outlook on existence and that i'm so grateful that I chosen this course in existence. i might provide it a shot! in case your loved ones incredibly loves you and helps you, they are going to need you to in straightforward terms be happy regardless of if meaning staying on your small city or shifting to the great city. in case you do not in straightforward terms like the city, you are able to continually flow lower back, yet you will never could rigidity approximately "what if...." from time to time you have to be slightly egocentric on your existence, by way of fact it incredibly is *your* existence and you're able to stay it for your self. reliable luck!

Only u can answer that. Is money more important than job security? Is doing what you love more important than money? Is a family more important than a career? These are all questions that do not have "catch-all" answers.
