I don't see any reason to put anyone down to stick up for myself. I am assertive, but not aggressive. If someone puts me down I know who I am and what I am. I can just walk away without saying a thing to them. Why have a battle of wits with an unarmed person?

Yes, I stick up for myself, but I can't think of a situation where I'd have to put someone else down. I'm sure I've done it, but can't think of a time. Usually when you have to stick up for yourself, you're in self-defense mode, so no one matters but you.

I stick up for myself when I need to. Never to put anyone else down. That's not right.

I stick up for myself whenever I think it's necessary. Putting others down is never my intention, and I stick up for others even more frequently than I do for myself.

I stand my ground-that's a certainty, but I try not to say hurtful things. To be the "better" person doesn't mean you have to go down to their level, but rather to say something educated in your defense or sometimes silence is a better weapon as long as it is accompanied with a look of "your opinion of me is insignificant." It is important to remember that some people are not happy and can only see the negative in everyone around them.

No, I don't stick up for any other person either. People can lie, I stick up for what I believe to be the truth.

I try not to. I am too nice sometimes, but I try not to put people down because there is enough of that in the world without me contributing.

I always stick up for myself. You can't count on anyone else to do it.
I stand up for what is right, no matter the cost. (unless the cost is my children)
