A user wanted to view their Outlook email from another PC on the AD network. But when they returned to their original desk they saw only newly delivered e-mail and not the older e-mail they could see from their temporary location. How do I get the Inbox contents to be the same in both places?

Outlook/Exchange created a local pst file on the other PC.

They have to go to the other PC, log onto their E-Mail through Outlook.

Depending on the version of Outlook, there is a place under tools, options to change the default location to send your new messages.

It should be set to Inbox on the server.

Right now it is likely set to a personal folder on the other PC.

Find the setting and set it back to Inbox.

After it is set back to Inbox, you can move the E-Mail from the pst file (Personal Folder) to your Inbox.

This has to be done on the other PC.

You may have to contact your IT department for help with this.

This is a common problem with Outlook/Exchange.

Good Luck

There are probably a couple of ways of doing this on the network but first thought is roaming profiles. This would in turn store the outlook pst file on a server and along with other users information on the server. Then as users move machine to machine there configurations will stay with them. Or you can manually create a share and place the users pst files in separate folders by username and then on each machine map the pst file as they move machine to machine.

Dont use personal folders. If you can just leave the mail on the server. If not then create the pst file on their home drive on a network server, then point each desktop setup to that pst file.
