I go to the properties and it stays at 640 * 480, i cannot chnage any of the settings. It may be because it syas i am using the default driver, but when i do find the driver, it does not load. I have got a iiyama prolite e430. Can anyone help?

Your video card drivers are not installed. If you own a brand name computer, go to the company website and download the drivers for your make and model of computer.

If you have a clone/no name computer...you would have to figure it out by opening the case.

It's fine to have a default driver for the monitor (the ilyama prolite e430) but you need to update the driver for the display adapter (aka video card). Find out what kind of display adapter you have (in the device manager) and then go to the manufacturer's website and download the newest drivers.

If you post what kind of display adapter you have I can point you in the right direction.

Well, you've already stated that you have gone to the properties screen (by right clicking on the screen I assume?). That kinda kills all my ideas about the computer itself (especially since it says it won't load the latest drivers).

Contact the company that built the computer, and the company that made the monitor. One of them *should* be able to help you.

I will assume you are using a Windows opperating system.
1. Click Start
2. Go to "My Computer"
3. Go to Control Panel
4. Go to Display
5. Go to Settings
6. There should be a slider deal for screen resolution on that window.

Sounds like your video drivers are corrupt. You should be able to get new drivers from http://driverguide.com Hope that helps.

I would have contacted either the Vendor for replacement or the manufacturer's service shop to provide the support.

take care,
