create the perception that we are an unjust nation who doesn't have the right to defend itself, enforce UN resolutions and who display the appologist attitude that we deserved to be attacked on 9/11?
After all, the world reads and watches our media and they form opinions based on that.

Yeah_but and Jones... as much as you want to believe our troops are failing... they are not. And no Jones... when in the heck did you get that I claimed Iraq is a huge success in this question? Did you even read the question? I believe with the support of our own nation and the world it could easily be a success.

Ideo... how are we forcing them to live as we do? If I'm not mistaken, Iraq formed it's own government with their own elections... How is it so hard for you people to understand that most humans WANT freedom... and freedom based systems are set up as a democracy....

Funny how not a single lib has answered the question... they just defend their media or pretend their doesn't exist.
Anyone care to answer the question? It is simple really... OK, pretend the word liberal isn't in the question.... if ALL the media, not just the conservative media... backed this country, would there be more support?
It is an easy question....

AMEN!
During previous global conflicts, WWII for example, our media was very pro-US and as such influenced the hearts and minds of not only Americans, but the rest of the world to rally behind the cause of freedom and democracy.
However, from the Vietnam era forward the press has been traditionally at odds with the military even in cases where military action is clearly called for. Our free press has become a propaganda machine for the other side.
Our freedom of speech and freedom of the press is one of our greatest assets. It is unfortunate that the very freedoms we treasure are also a bit of an Achilles heel.

NO, we watch our own media. We have access to Fox and CNN etc but we base our own opinions from the way our own country portrays it and by the actions America have taken.
I agree with the enforcement of UN resolutions.
The fact that 158 countries voted for the lifting of the sanctions off Cuba and only 2 did against (America and Israel) shocked most of us.
This is just an example of something that has not been plastered all over the media.
But believe me when I say that America did not deserve to be attacked. It was a horrible, tragic event in this day and age with so many innocent people being killed.
The media is very influential though. Its very mixed opinions.
When you think of no WMDs found, the compelling evidence that suggests that the American government could have prevented 9/11`it does not look great.

No no longer all of it's factors are fake. The commentator backs up multiple data in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, complements the perspectives by ability of affirming the offsetting rewards to inherent probability and destructive aspects. Don't blame the media. The world doesn't support your "war on terror" because it's not so. 9/11 doesn't give the USA the right to police the world anyway it wants. Saddam was a bad guy and his government was awful but it wasn't the US business and it has nothing to do with 9/11.

The media only promotes scandals, dirty laundry, and crime. Naturally when it comes to War on Terror all they want to report is scandals, dirty laundry, crime, and also deaths. I think there would be more support for whatever we do if people would turn off the TV or actually do some in depth studies of what is taking place. Instead we simply take a headline and run with it.

While there are people in some parts of the world who do watch and read our media, most of the world tend to rely on the media of their own countries. By the way, you may be interested to know that not all of the non-US media is liberal. Not only does Rupert Murdoch own FOX here in the US, but he also owns various media in the UK and Australia, and interestingly enough, despite his influence in those countries, the war in Iraq is quite unpopular there.

Yeah, it was the MEDIA that caused no nation to go with us into Iraq, not their own thoughts that the invasion was unjust.
Notice countries that are against us in Iraq are with us in Afghanistan?

What liberal media? In case you weren't paying attention, almost all are owned by Conservatives.
I think that there is little or no support for the occupation of Iraq because the White House manufactored the intelligence by which they justified the war. 3000 Us soldiers have died and a few hundred thousand Iraqi civilians, without reason. And we are stuck in a quagmire, with no end in sight, which is bankrupting America and preventing our National Guard from responding to natural disasters (such as Katrina) as well as stretch our military so thin that it is unable to defend America from real threats.
Just a thought.

Oh absolutely. What does that say about a country that is divided on issues like "should we attack our enemies or not?" Such a country is weak, divided, and draws aggression.

The perception isn't created. There's a great new book out about this Presidency from a key Conservative who worked inside the Bush administration and saw it for himself.
