Most of the time this means that something went wrong during the transfer of the image. Try the refresh button.

It means the picture has come through in some way that your computer can't translate into an image. Sometimes if you right click on this cross and then on SHOW PICTURE on the drop down menu, the pic will appear, but usually it won't. I find this sometimes happens with embedded pictures in Yahoo e mails.

It means your computer can not render the picture for some reason. Ironically, when you hit "refresh," you *may* see the picture anyway.
Alternatively, it could mean that the picture is of a nature that your computer will not render it (i.e.: if you have a filter preventing porn).
OR...the site simply may have not downloaded completely, and your computer puts the "X" in as a place holder.

if its there all the time you might have your web browser ste to NO IMAGES well i thinks it gos by that name just go to control panal, internet options and click the last toolbar to the left youll find something there about it. other wise the other site musnt be working right
