3% means 3 in every 100
But you 15 defective, this 3 x 5 = 15
So taking 100 and multiplying by 5,; 100 x 5 = 500
So 500 were produuced that day.

In shorter mathermatical terms ; -
3/100 = 15/x
By algebraic manipulation
x = 15 x 100/3 = 500

OK!!!!!

Let x = the number of products made at the factory.
3% = .03
Translate "Three percent of the products made at the factory is 15" into mathematical terms.

.03x = 15
x = 15/.03
x = 500
