I wish I could say "sorry" for the heartless - but I can't.

My thoughts are with you and all of the families that lost loved ones on 9/11.

I was in DC that day, and, one of my children's friends lost a parent, though, I did not know him but scarcely. My children were a bit terrified, as, rumors were flying all over DC that day. We talked about why this occurred at length.

I had a friend who was a doctor stationed at the army hospital near the pentagon, and, they were relieved, but disheartened, to have so few people show up with injuries. It was because in the manner in which the Pentagon was attacked, people simply died or were not injured.

I have since visited the memorial located on the location in the Pentagon that was crushed but since rebuilt. It is a solemn place, but, a place that radiates a certain resolve and permanence of what we represent as a nation and as a people.

It is hard to be there and not have a tear come to your eye.

We all agree that 9-11 could have been prevented . Hind sight is always 20-20 and we know exactly what we should have done to stop it .

Since we had the opportunity to stop it then how come so many people still support Bush and the 50 years of policy that created the circumstances for 9-11 .

Look past the attack on 9-11 to what the reason was for the attack .

The slogan they hate us for our freedom is incorrect .

They hate us for butting in and causing problems for millions of people who had to live under ruthless leaders just so we could have oil .

It is sad that we are still pursuing the exact same policies that caused the attack on 9-11 .

That Iran is being groomed for an attack in the media all the time and by the government .

Policy is to blame for 9-11 .

policy will continue to make this world and our nation the target of the poor who's only means of attack is terrorism .

This means until policy changes we will always be at risk .

I didn't lose any blood relatives but did lose fellow Americans whom I see as brothers and sisters. Today of all days, is the day that we should be united and stand strong together instead of demonstrating hatred.

Apparently there are those who hide behind their computers and would prefer to toss out hatred, snide remarks and continue the dangerous division that's happening within our own country. That's what the enemy wants and it's working.

I've vowed not to get into partisan politics and will spend my day reflecting and responding to reasonable questions such as yours, which encourage unification and not division.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. It only adds to the tragedy that after such a catastrophic event people cannot manage to work together for a better tomorrow.

This isn't about red or blue, it is about being American.

I didn't directly, but I have close friends and relatives (yes, plural) who did. In fact, I was connected in this way to not just one but to four of the passengers on United 93.

Very sorry for your loss and all losses.

I'm sorry that people are heartless or hateful. But 3774 US troops have lost their lives. I'd like to see their names read and be honored as well.
