Ok. this is a personal opinion question. IM not sure i want to find out the sex of the baby. In your experience is it better to find out or to wait.

Anyone think i should find out so it'll be easier to choose a name?

im not sure. also for anyone who has waited how hard is it to not known your whole pregnancy?

This is a tough question. I was 36 when I delivered & had to have all kinds of tests, & they said they would tell us if we wanted, since the blood would already be taken. So we said yes. If it will cost you extra to find out, why not wait?
The pluses for knowing are doing the room the right colors, & buying the right kind of clothing. But, you may find out anyway! When I called for the test results, it was right before Thankgiving & there was a pile of papers. The woman said she knew, & told me I was to have a girl.
At the moment she said that (I was about 16 wks) I felt a wave go thru me that felt like NO, it isn't! I was startled, & asked if it was my sheet. She assured me & asked if i wanted to talk to someone about my problem! I said no, thanks & hung up. She called me back 5 minutes later. That wasn't my sheet & my sheet actually said I will have a boy! I did have a boy. So, maybe the baby will tell you!
Good luck!

I had to find out the sex of my baby just because I am an extremely organized person who had to be ready for her. One downfall about finding out the sex is the doubt you have with the ultrasound's results... I spent my whole pregnancy doubting about whether or not they were right and fearing that I was ready for a girl, but might actually be having a boy. You hear of this happening a lot especially if it's a girl! My ultrasound tech was right, it was a girl, and I felt so much better having her room ready and a closet full of clothes. I couldn't imagine doing it all in the first few weeks after giving birth. My husband and I kept the sex a secret though from our friends and family... another option for you if you are thinking of finding out.

Good luck and Congratulations : )

I always found out, if I am having a boy, I want all boy stuff and if I am having a girl I want to deck her out in pink's and purples, not greens and yellow. Also, picking a name is a big deal and if you wait until the day of birth you might be rushed. But you could also pick a name for a girl and for a boy, so you will be ready either way. The only reason not to find out the sex is to be surprised, so do you want to be surprised? good luck

We already have a boy and girl name picked out. We are going next week to find out what it is. I don't think I could wait! I notice I talk different to the baby and have different daydreams based on the sex. So to be able to focus on one would save me some stress, LOL! Plus, the family wants to know real bad, I think for baby shower gifts. But his side of the family has a bunch of boys and they really want me to have a girl. If you could wait I bet it would be amazing, but I just can't, no will power in that department. Good Luck!!

Well I've never been pregnant or had a child (I'm 18) but my family has a baby boom in the past several years. We've had six births in my family, and many close family friends have also had babies.

What I've noticed is that those people who knew the sex of their baby got more gender specific clothing, bedding, ect.. during their babies shower, and when they shopped themselves. Those who didn't know ended up with tons of yellows and greens. There's nothing wrong with yellow or green, of course, but you might end up with those colors for your nursery, instead of the customary blue or pink.

Personally, I already know that I'll have know the sex of my baby (when I start to have kids). I wouldn't be able to stand the wait, and I also want my child to have the best gender specifc clothes. I'd want my daughter to have adorable little dresses and hats to wear, and my son to have little manly clothes.

So, thats my advice. I hope it helps, and good luck with your baby!!!!

Ohh honey, the excitement and the anticipation of waiting for the dr. to say It's a boy or It's a Girl..I don't know if I can find the words to explain....U can always pick out both gender names..and buy neutral clothing...even have a welcome home baby shower instead and then everyone will know the gender and can give gender specific gifts...I think you should wait (just my opinion) the excitement is exhilarating!

You can always buy few necessary things and toys that are not gender specfic and few yellow, green and white outfits.. then when the baby is born go crazy with all the blues and pinks/purples...

You can also have the best boy or girl name picked out in advance.

It was very hard not to find out... every doctors appt i was tempted to find out..

My thought is if we had found out, it would've been "oh our baby girl has arrived" as appose to "Oh my god we have a little girl" it was a wonderful surprise in my case.

I dont have kids but i think it would be exciting to wait to see what you have when the baby is born.

I would make a list of names for both genders.

Most baby toys are unisex so that should not be a problem.

as for the paint of the room i would do a themed room.

For example you could do Jungle animals, zoo animals, circus

I personally couldn't stand not knowing, however, my sis-in-law and her husband didn't find out and it was really exciting to be surprised! One awesome reason not to find out (or at least not to tell others) is because people will not buy you tons of gender specific clothes that your baby will never get around to wearing. You will get more of the things you really need. If you have plenty of money, I wouldn't worry about that though :)

I can't wait to find out. I get to on the 25th(if the baby cooperates). But there are alot of people who want the surprise. I like to be more prepared though.
