Gen. Betrayus...Nice....LoL
He doesn't remind me of Powell. Powell is an intelligent guy who, regretably, bought into BUshCo's crap.
Betrayus is nothing but a stooge. He's a mindless puppet.

I am tired of hearing everyone say the Bush Administration is crooked, like the other Administrations wasn't. We need to not forget that the military believes in the chain of command, and the President is the leader of that command. So what made any think the General would go against his superior. Some individuals will not second guess their bosses let alone contradict them. So all you leftist get over, the questions you need to be asking yourself is why a woman who voted for the war is going to be your democratic nominee for president.

He doesn't remind me of Powell at all, for the main reason that Powell now seems to be showing remorse that he was "a good soldier" for Bush instead of a good man for the country. Powell should have resigned rather than read those lies to the U.N., and opposed Bush in the primaries, saying, "You are not a good President, you are not a good Republican, you are not a good Christian, and you are not a good man." Instead, Powell rolled over and played dead, and reports indicate that he now regrets it. Petraeus was, apparently, willing to lie before Congress to get that extra star.

Be careful in how you portray ret Gen Powell, as most (me included) consider him a great American.
The report on the information that is provided to them, by doing so they are not lying.

What Powell and Petreaus believed was that the crooked and corrupt Bush administration agenda could be moderated with their influence. What neither realized was that Bush has clique of dogmatic narcissists who interpret deviation from their determined outcomes as dissent. Petraues would had been vilified by Bush underlings if he had delivered an honest report and left high and dry.
Petraeus mark on history will be a negative one, as with Colin Powell, but no other outcome was possible working for Bush.

Your characterization of a True American ranks right up there with that dispicable ad in yesterday's New York Times. What's wrong with you people? Do you hate your Country that much?

When your President asks you to commit to a job, believe me, you do it, it is noble and correct to do so. Do not confuse doing one's job with honor to the difficulties of following difficult orders. These men swore to uphold the constitution, and do so, by following orders to the best of their abilities.

He did remind me of Powell in that I think he was sitting there, bold faced lying to the press and the public and it was sticking in his throat... i think we can expect his resignation soon
or else........maybe he was hand picked by Bush because he WILL lie... who knows.. it is so hard to believe anything that comes out of Washington these days.

Ah, I see Moveon.orgs NYT ad made you a believer. Too bad not all advertising works this well.
Word of advice, think for yourself, don't just rehash and ad in the New York Times.
