These types of questions solve nothing and only aggravate the situation and the division between the Dems and Repubs.
I want a solution to the problems in Iraq.
I want to know why the US has to be the ones who foot the bill for a unnecessary war.
What should we do? We can't pull out cause the US will look like a idiot, and the country will likely fall under the control of someone even more against the US than Hussein was, and we can't stay cause it will bankrupt the country. What are we going to do this hurricane season with so many National Guard in Iraq?
It is obvious to me that all Bush wants to do is sit on his thumb until his term is over so somebody else can make the tough choice.
Thanks George.

I meant that the supporters of the war, Dems and Repubs, will look like idiots. That being political suicide, what next?
Jeez, I'm not blaming W for the hurricane, I'm saying what if a hurricane hits and the National Guard is in Iraq. This isn't about Dems and Repubs, it's about everybody in the US.

Finally, someone who "gets it". These two parties are so busy fighting and blaming each other, they do not have time to solve the issue. BOTH parties have resorted to name calling to distract from the fact that neither side has done a thing about the war ( or any other major issue facing the nation for that matter).
Time to stop blaming, stop name calling and start getting things done.

What amazes me is how people are so ready to complain about how the Iraqis aren't pulling their own weight. Their country, their way of life, their culture is invaded/occupied. Then they are told to rebuild their country in our image. If this were the US we would have made their lives a living hell and I'm sure our cooperation would have been none. The arrogance of the US is again unbelievable. And because of this arrogance our country is going to suffer.
For those of you that still don't get it...9/11 and Iraq are 2 different issues.
The poster did not blame Bush for hurricane season. He asked what are we going to do if a disaster strikes. Bush took our National Guard. Our real Homeland Security.
We'll look like idiots if we leave Iraq? Sorry to say that happened a while ago.
Everyone might as well buckle up. This isn't going to get better. And we are in Iraq until they get it together and run us out. Albert Einstein said Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius-and a lot of courage-to move in the opposite direction.
We are sadly lacking in the touch of genius department.

We should have finished the job during the gulf war and taken Saddam out then. I can't understand why Clinton didn't respond when Saddam attempted to assassinate Bush 1. I would think that an attempt to murder a president of the United States would be grounds for war.

No, Repub's don't want more of our soldiers to die, but we are in a war and people die.Better over there than here(circle the wagons mentality). Dem's want us to lose in Iraq because they think that will make Bush look bad and will help them in November 2008.

As for us footing the bill, it's because only a very few other countries are willing to do the right thing. The UN is supposed to pitch in but they are so corrupt we cannot expect any help from them. As for the National Guard, 70% of its members are still stateside.

I predict that no matter who becomes president in November 2008, we will still have troops in Iraq. Even some of the Dems realize that Cut and Run ain't going to cut it.

Gene: What do you anticipate from supporters of a guy who's actual at a loss for words himself. I' propose truly a number of his problems might truly weigh all and sundry down. a million. He calls himself Black,, yet he's a million/4 black, a million/4 arab, a million/2 white. basically on ethnicity on my own, he makes the three faces of eve look like a humorous tale. 2. Then he has this little faith element,, Is he muslim, Is he Christan, OMG the horror of all of it... (pastor wright bounce in and shop the Boy) 3. Then he has those minor anger themes,,, Its the grandmother element,, then the mummy element, then The I hate all whites element,, supply a him a minute to form some issues out. 4. Then there is his balloting checklist.. He thinks contemporary potential he voted,, while it called for Yea or Nay, In all fact I, can see have been that solid be somewhat confusing. 5. Then there is this problem with basically out actual mendacity,,, come on so the guy embellishes somewhat.. No vast deal.,.. all and sundry doe's it, so why no longer. 6. Then there is this little problem with the spelling of his call. this is comprehensible, He says it replaced into African,, Swahillee I, do have self belief... yet all and sundry in Kenya which contain his kinfolk says it replaced into Muslim,,,,, Now who's to quivil actual,, in no way me. After those few examples are you able to no longer see the place supporters could be somewhat at a loss for words. there working around helping approximately 10 diverse human beings wrapped up into one individual. So cut back em some slack, the single element they're particular of however is he's an Absolute Socialist of the utmost order. so as that we are in a position to anticipate. So in his minds set McCain pronounced one hundred years for particular., desire this allows.

It would be nice if our troops could fight a war without people at home pissing and moaning about why were are there. It would be nice if our troops could have the proper equipment to get the job done. You know heavily armored vehicles impervious to IEDs would be a start. It would be nice if the media would actually report all the things going on there not just the bad news. It would be nice if this country wasn't a 24 hour news cycle-must know right now-bad news only please-type of country. It would be nice if these things were so, but unfortunately they are not. So the one thing I would like to see out of all of this is for the government to give the troops the necessary implements to WIN this thing.

Ideogenetic who warned whom about the quagmire? And I'm sure it was done after the fact, but you can keep attempting to take credit for it anyway. You are the kind of asshole the questioner is talking about.

Edit: Open Your Eyes... You are crazy. Our country has nothing to apologize for. We were the ones in case you forget who were attacked on an unprovoked basis. We need to keep doing the things we do. I think we should be meaner to these assholes, lets start dropping Playboys and Penthouses on their countries and see how pissed off they get then. **** them. I have no reason to apologize for anything and this country of mine is not about to take a fall, especially against some second rate pansy-*** people who cannot form a real army, but instead have some little insurgency that is supposed to scare us. I don't freaking think so.

The solution is to remove the troops now and beg the muslim's for forgiveness for years of meddling in their affairs and killing hundreds of thousands of their children. That won't happen. Your country is about to take a fall for believing it is invincible. The people of the US who think George Bush is a God will soon realise that he doesn't have their best interests at heart. Look forward to seeing you ruled under martial law. Once your country is attacked again and it will be soon and it is blamed on Osama Bin Laden and Iran is attacked for harbouring him you will then have made your worst mistake of all. You believe yourselves to be right. But you couldn't be more wrong. It will end badly for you. It is written in the stars. Your government allowed the attacks on 9/11 to happen. They needed a reason to get into the middle east. They have been meddling in affairs there since world war 2. Iran is perhaps the most important target there. George Bush has stated his intent. Iran is a terrorist state. The revolutionary guards of Iran are funding Al Qaeda in Iraq. Ring any bells? George bush went to meet general Patreaus in Iraq a week before his grilling on capitol hill. He gave him a briefing and told him to say it was all his own words. The idea is to make you people think that troop withdrawal is on the agenda. It is not. The surge was nothing but a military build up in preparation for the war with Iran. George has been travelling around the world trying to get support for this war. George Bush didn't go to all the trouble of vetoing congress and sending extra troops to Iraq to start pulling them out by spring. Your supreme arrogance is unsurpassed. It will be the end of you. All great empires throughout history have fallen. Who are you to think you are any different?

Speaking of causing divisions. Phullllleeeeezzzzee

Hurricanes? You're back to blaming Bush for Hurricane damage again and don't want to aggravate the situation?
You're kidding right?

BTW: We are about to get through the second year of not seeing one single hurricane strength storm make land-fall anywhere on the US mainland. Does Bush get credit for that?

Absurd

A common day in this section.

So what was Ronald Reagan doing when he blustered into Lebanon with 1800 Marines, and a couple hundred died from truck bombs? (He turned tail and ran, knowing that Lebanon was not a place we should be.)

If Ronald Reagan can admit a serious mistake, so can Bush and company.
