I'm pretty sure in my case it is due to low testosterone, but I can't find it without it combined with estrogen. I have hypothryoidism, and fibromyalgia and I am on multiple medications for the fibro pain. I've been on the meds for years. Since I quit working, I've been able to cut down on some of the meds, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Any suggestions?

I had a hysterectomy at age 35 for cervical cancer, but I still have my ovaries. I have had hot flashes off and on, and some IBS symptoms, mostly constipation. I am currently on Estratest HS, (tried FS didn't make any difference.) I don't like the idea of taking estrogen because there is a strong history of breast cancer in my family, (Mother, grandmother, aunt on mom's side) but all were cureable. My instincts are telling me it's a low testosterone, or some kind of hormonal problem, because of the thyroid involvement. (my instincts are usually right) I am on Synthroid (not generic), for the hypothyroid. I was really hopeing that the thyroid problem was causeing the fibro, and low libido, but no such luck. It helped a little in the pain dept, but not much.

In my experiences it sounds more like you have a low progesterone. Testosterone is not the only hormone that enables sex drive. Especially if you have Fibro and hot flashes it usually is a great indication of hormone imbalance that usually imbalances the ratio between Estrogen and Progesterone. There is an Herb called Maca Root (A Peruvian food base) that is known for men usually. It is actually a active ingredient found in Levitra. Apparently it is doing great things for female hormone imbalance too. Yes it is known to boost male sex drive. But there is no reason it cannot do the same for women too and bring balance. It has no harmful effects.

If you are in that much distress. It might be a good idea to seek out the possibility of getting a saliva test to indicate exactly how deficient you are and what hormone. Usually Progesterone cream is a create relief for Fibromyalgia but I don't want to put that option out there unless you absolutely need it. Do not be afraid of the possibilities of estrogen therapy if you are menopausal. Soy Isoflavones give you the ability to produce Estrogen receptors that are much safer than synthetic Estrogen replacements. Check out www.johnleemd.com/. He has a website that clarifies exactly what you are probably seeking. It will answer so many questions you have. It has helped so many women.

Try a sensual massage, it will help alleviate the pain and help you relax, and some foreplay wouldn't hurt either. I notice you have mom in your ID so I am assuming that there are children running around, that's enough to tank anyone's sex drive, I know, I'm a mom too. Its hard to switch modes from being mom to woman for me at times especially when I've had a rough evening with my boys (they are 3 and 5). Neutrogena make a sensual sesame oil - and its well worth it, your skin will beg for the stuff. Have you cut back on the caffeine? Try trading a night of childcare with a friend so that you can get some time for yourself alone with your spouse, and have a date night, it couldn't hurt and I'm sure your spouse will be game, as they say sex is relationship glue. LOL - I really hope you feel better.

well im sure you have low testosterone because of the pain you are in. I am also sure that with the pain medications you are on, you are either constipated or IBS or both at times. I suggest bio- identical hormones... called the pellet. You need to clean out your colon naturally... try something from natures sunshine. Also you should probably follow a gluten intolerant diet. (left hand side of web page below). Are you on westroid for thyroid? or are you taking a synthetic? You need to exercise and stretch no matter how you feel. Possibly look into taking some collodial silver( 30 parts per million) to clean up your bodies disease patterns. If you need any more help you can call Dr wise and he will return your call and answer your questions.

Exercise can actually help. It increases your metabolism and makes you feel sexy. If this doesn't work talk to your Doctor.
