I never miss an opportunity to say thank you. There is no greater love than a man lay down his life for his fellow man.
We treated the Viet Nam vets so awful and they were drafted that I have made it a point to thank and speak words of encouragement to all service men and women.
Many of my friends children have returned for the second and third trip to Iraq. When I hug and thank these young people they tell me how much it means to them.

Greet them warmly. Greet their loved ones warmly. Thank them for supporting our country and for the bravery exhibited by them in a time of war when they voluntarily enlisted without the draft forcing it on them.
Have a celebration for them in the form of a party.

I was in the Air Force during Viet Nam but never saw duty overseas, but I sure got my share of criticism from folks. It cut very deep.
So, as you can imagine, I agree with the others. Welcome them home & disregard who & why they were sent off to serve their country. They just want to get back into life & heal. They need friends off all sorts & to hear that what they and others sacrificed
was appreciated.

Welcome them home, thank them. So many are coming home with serious injuries, suicidal from depression and lots of head injuries. Call your local Veteran's associations/hospitals, perhaps there is a volunteer program you can participate in
