Nope. Rats are known to have problems visualizing the world around them; that is why they sway their head when they are staring at something. Cats have great vision, in part due to the need to hunt small prey.

Cats have better vision than rats & mice. Although all of them depend upon smell & sound to some extent, rats & mice (who often live in poorly-lit conditions in the wild) depend on their noses & ears much more than their eyes. This is why a pet rat or mouse might nibble your fingers if they smell like food, while a cat probably wouldn't.

i think rats can and they are very goo dpets they say. they won't bite you either.
