Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological movement disorder marked by uncomfortable sensations in the legs and an almost irresistible urge to move the legs in order to relieve those sensations. Some people describe the feeling as an agitated inability to rest their legs. Other people with RLS experience sensations deep within the legs, often described as creepy-crawly, tugging, pulling, burning, or itching. Still other people have difficulty describing the feelings.

These uncomfortable sensations generally start or become worse at rest, at night, and while lying down, leading to chronic sleep problems, stress, and discomfort. Voluntary movement, such as walking or rubbing the legs, may help to alleviate symptoms.

Research suggests that RLS may be a common and largely under-treated condition. Although anyone can develop RLS, the condition may have a genetic origin, so having a family member with RLS may increase your risk.

There are a few medication options: Some people get relieve with Benadryl before they go to sleep. Others require prescription medication such as Mirapex, Primidone or Klonopin. Your Dr can prescribe them for you. SOme people get relief from drinking a glass of wine before they go to sleep but thats not medically proven.

Restless Leg Syndrome Is sensations in your legs that make you always have to move or kick your legs. I have had it but it was caused by the blood pressure medicine i was taking, When i stopped taking the medicine my legs were and are fine now,
You feel a tingling or tightening in your legs and you HAVE to move your legs, It occurs at bedtime....you never feel it during the day.
There are medicines for it.....Reequip being one....I do not think it stops the sensations.......just puts you to sleep. That's all it does for a friend of mine.....puts hem to sleep.
I suggest if you are taking blood pressure medicine that you ask your Doctor to change it. If that does not help ask for something for the madding sensations that are keeping you awake.

I have had RLS for over 20 years and haven't had a good nights sleep in years. You need to see a Sleep specialist and have a sleep study done. Very little is known about RLS but there are medications that help.
