Any lump anywhere in the body MUST be checked by your doctor.
A lump in the armpit could be an enlarged lymph node or "gland", like the glands that swell in the neck when you have a throat infection (tonsillitis).
Have you had any area of infection on your arm or hand?
There are more serious causes of swollen glands that need to be checked out, but on the other hand you might just have a "lipoma" - a lump of fatty tissue - that is totally innocent.
Whatever... see your doctor!

What you describe could be one of many possibilities. Off the top of my head, a cyst a fatty tumor seem the most likely. Redness would indicate inflammation. Have a doctor take a look at it in case it is something more serious such as a tumor affecting your lymph nodes. Lumps and bumps are frequently "nothing", but it is always better to have them checked.

sometimes these are just caused by shaving. Especially if you use a disposable razor a second time. Its just dirt clogging up causing a lump and it hurts a littla as well. But it is nothing to worry about. If it is different from what i described you should go and get it looked at but i would leave it another day or two

This could be an enlarged or infected hair follicle or a blocked sweat gland. I've had one in the same place for years, having said that, I do get it checked regulary. Best thing is to make an appointment at your Doctors and go from there.

While it MIGHT be nothing at all, if you ever find a lump anywhere in or around your breast matter (which includes the area between the breasts, the upper AND lower rib cage and under your arms and in your pits), go to a doctor. While rare, breast cancer can and does develop in ALL portions I just described.

there's a gland under your arm, it is going to swell up for incredibly some reasons. maximum probable there replaced into an infection that went up your lymphatic device to the closest lymph node. The node will swell up mutually because it prognosis the an infection, whilst it has finished its interest the swelling will go down. nonetheless you may see a physician.

I had that a couple of weeks ago, I automatically thought it was something terrible but it went away a few days later.
If I was you I'd give it a couple of days and if theres no sign of it going away then go and see your GP. Don't leave it too long just incase it is something that needs treatment.
