I don't see anyone questioning the patriotism of General Petraeus. They may question his information but not his patriotism. It seems the right can't tell the difference between simple disagreement and lack of patriotism. Maybe it is their simple narrow minds. Anyway no one is questioning the patriotism of a general nor should they of anyone else. Democracy thrives on dissent and difference of opinion. If we are expected to walk in lockstep with the fearless leader we might as well have a totalitiarian government, a dictatorship.

No it is never allowed.
Those on the left can say anything they want about anyone they want(except our enemies) and it's called descent. If someone on the right even questions the wisdom of anything said or done by someone on the left then they are "QUESTIONING MY PATRIOTISM!!"
During war there is a fine line between descent and treason.
If I think you've crossed it I'll say so. I f you think I've crossed it you say so.

Only generally.

Here's my problem with doing that to Petraeus: He can't fight back. If the left and right want to go at each other all day, fine by me. Leave the uniforms out of it...it's against the UCMJ for them to use contemptous words against certain officials.

It's just not sporting. Pick on someone who can respond in kind.

The only patriotism the left had left the country in the 60's. I do however question their sanity. Don't worry the right will protect them as usual.
