How does a guy handle getting hell from all his wives?

That would be my understanding, because there is no way in HELL I would be okay in a polygomous marriage.

Hey if it's not for you, don't do it. I am good friends with a family that consists of one man and two women. He is legally married to one and the other he married in their own private ceremony that is not recognized legally. They have a child together. It is one of the most loving, stable families I have ever seen. They don't have any more problems than any other 'normal' marriage out there, except they have to put up with judgment from society.

It is possible. People did it for thousands of years before the church came along and put a stop to it. We are just not used to it in this culture, so we dont' see how it can work.

I used to think that it would be cool to have all theses woman. Now I have a new formula: 1 wife = 1 headache, 2 wives = 2 headaches and so on. How many headaches can you handle? They all will want things you can't afford, have tastes you don't agree with, and each of them will want to change you in ways you don't need to be changed or are unreasonable to ask of anyone much less themselves.

In some societies, the first wife is the "mother" wife, who mentors the younger wives the husband takes on. The husband will provide separate rooms for all of the wives, and in certain cases, depending on the wealth and stature of the husband, provide separate homes. The husband will provide for private "romance" (wink wink) on certain nights of the week for each woman depending on their needs and his. Roles among the woman are determined by seniority and skill level, as the "Mother" wife divvies up the duties pertaining to housework, childcare, bills, etc. It's a delicate balance in which a man must be in control of all of these woman, have a lot of money and patience to deal with all of his wives and their wants and needs, let alone the horde of children all of these wives will produce. Good luck if you want to try it.

The wives are usually too busy taking the hell rather than giving it. They are also under aged, under educated and socially economically threatened or taken advantage. Polygamy is a further exploitation of young woman and little girls. It doesn't work for anyone but the selfish, self centered man! fact!

Those types of relationships are definitely different and the people in them see things a bit differently. No reason the guy should have to get hell from all his wives, just like many men with one wife don't get hell from her.

To each their own...if that's not a situation for you, then don't pursue it. I don't see any reason for it not to be legal though, for those who desire it.

The women or girls who get into polygamy marriages are submissive. What the husband says is written in stone.

There is no way that an assertive woman in the mainstream culture would ever get involved.

In theory you would think that polygamy could work...There are more women around to share in child raising and the daily chores...but I personally couldn't handle my husband being intimate with another woman.

Well the people who are involved in this types of situations have to be more understanding and like that situation so I would assume that they women are not as needy or jealous since they knew what was going on when they get into the situation. Maybe they like having him there and also having there space.

Well I would assume that most of the women in these types of situations have a bit of a submissive streak in them and therefore wouldnt be giving you hell. I just cant see this kind of thing though. I mean maybe the occassional recreational threesome I can see but not being married to multiple people. (not advocating threesome just saying it is easier to understand than the idea of multiple spouses) Polyandry is wacked too.

Well, it does work in cultures that accept polygamy. Getting hell from all his wives? Maybe he doesn't marry nagging hags!

one wife to take care of the kids and house and sex with me, and any other wives ( I'd like maybe four more)are for working and having sex with me. that way, I don't have to work anymore, and I can get fat and sassy, and go fishing all the time.
