When I watch Court TV sometimes they have some DNA at a crime scene but no way to match it to anyone so they'd look for fingerprints instead. What if they kept people's DNA on file when they are born. Your thoughts?

Gross invasion of privacy!

Until youve shown you cannot be trusted, the gov't has no reason to have this information on file. I like the current system, makes the cops do their job without walking all over the law-abiding citizens.

I am completely against the idea! It's bad enough that the government keeps track of us through our Social Security numbers, so the last thing we need is to have them keep track of our genetic codes! It may be only an illusion, but I would actually like to feel like I'm not constantly under government surveillance!

I tend to frown on such policies just because I do not trust our government. I believe that once convicted of a crime, sure.

Otherwise, it is just one more brick in the mortar of a police state.

Only if it is stored for medical purpose.
by saying that I still have trust issue on keeping people's DNA though.
People been wrongfully jailed because of DNA...
