I was on some backroads a while ago and driving my grandmas mercedes. Heck i thought, if i washed it for her i might as well see what else i can do its not like she ever drives over 30. So i found this nice 1/2 mile strip and i got it up to 140 mph. I wanted to keep going to see when the governor kicks in or when the engine peaks im not sure how mercedes regulates there cars speeds, but i was wondering if anyone out there actually does know the top speed on this car? It's a 1994 Mercedes Benz E320. Thanks.

Your engine is limited to 6400 RPM's, which translates into a top speed of roughly 145-148MPH

The earlier 300CE with the 3.0L which turns to a true 7000RPM has a top speed of 155MPH

If it is a U.S. spec model, it is limited to 130 mph because U.S. models were fitted with H-rated tires.
